Report: No Real Madrid Player Willing to Leave Despite Summer Transfer Speculations

According to a report by MARCA, Real Madrid are dealing with an unexpected problem this summer — no one wants to leave.

Since the conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup, neither players nor their agents have approached the club with any intention of moving on. While that level of commitment and belief in the project under Xabi Alonso is admirable, it’s also creating a serious squad management dilemma for Los Blancos.

Full squad, no space for new signings

The squad is already operating at full capacity, and until some departures are confirmed, Real Madrid cannot register new signings. With the 2025/26 season fast approaching and pre-season preparations set to resume on August 4, it’s time for tough internal decisions.

The technical staff, led by Alonso and general manager Juni Calafat, are now tasked with finalizing plans that were first discussed during the World Cup break. Roles must be clarified, and the hierarchy reset.

Endrick vs. Gonzalo García: Who stays?

One of the key decisions revolves around Endrick and Gonzalo García. With Kylian Mbappé guaranteed to lead the line, only one more forward spot is realistically available in the rotation.

Both Endrick and García are elite young prospects, but Real Madrid will have to choose who stays and who leaves on loan to ensure their development isn’t stunted.

David Alaba situation remains unresolved

Then there’s David Alaba. At 33 and coming off a string of injuries, the Austrian centre-back is one of the highest earners at the club. Internally, Real Madrid are open to terminating his contract to make space and reduce the wage bill. However, Alaba has reportedly shown no willingness to depart, complicating the situation.

Mendy’s uncertain role

Ferland Mendy is another player whose future is under scrutiny. While the left-back hasn’t been officially put on the market, his importance has dwindled. The return of Fran García, the signing of Álvaro Carreras, and Alonso’s preference for flexible full-backs have dropped Mendy down the pecking order.

Unless there’s movement soon, Real Madrid risk entering the season without space to make any more signings, even if top targets become available late in the window.

What’s next?

While the commitment from the squad speaks volumes about the dressing room environment, a clear-out is now essential. Real Madrid cannot afford to stall their summer planning, especially with competition intensifying in both La Liga and the Champions League.

Expect discussions to ramp up behind the scenes at Valdebebas in the coming weeks, as the club pushes for clarity — and eventually, departures.
