Real Madrid have officially kicked off pre-season under Xabi Alonso, but the excitement around a fresh new era is being tempered by some major concerns — most notably, the absence of Jude Bellingham.

The English midfield sensation underwent shoulder surgery earlier this summer, ruling him out for 10 to 12 weeks and forcing him to miss the start of the 2025/26 campaign. However, there’s finally some positive news for Madridistas.

Bellingham targeting late October return

According to a fresh report from MARCA, Bellingham’s recovery is progressing smoothly, and he could be back in full training by the end of October — a timeline that aligns perfectly with one of Real Madrid’s most important fixtures of the season: El Clásico, scheduled for October 26.

While nothing is set in stone, insiders say the signs are encouraging. Bellingham has recently been spotted in London without a sling, walking comfortably and showing visible signs of healing, including a scar from the procedure.

The midfielder has been quietly going through rehabilitation in England, away from the noise, focused entirely on getting back to full fitness.

Massive boost for Xabi Alonso

Bellingham’s return could be a season-defining moment for Xabi Alonso, who is already dealing with an incomplete squad, inconsistent preseason form, and some underperforming players like Raul Asencio.

Having a fully fit Bellingham back in time for the Clásico could inject exactly the kind of spark, control, and goal threat that this team needs — especially with Real Madrid aiming to reclaim La Liga and go deep in the Champions League once again.

The club has not rushed his recovery, and they won’t. But if everything continues to go to plan, expect to see #5 back on the pitch before Halloween — and possibly lighting up Camp Nou once again.
