According to a report from Fichajes, Real Madrid have received a substantial €65 million offer from an unnamed Saudi Pro League club for Brahim Diaz — a player who, while not a guaranteed starter, remains a key rotational figure in the squad.

The 25-year-old Moroccan international had a strong 2024/25 campaign, often acting as the “twelfth man” under Carlo Ancelotti, and now continues to be valued by new manager Xabi Alonso. However, the sheer size of the Saudi offer has reportedly caused a stir inside the Santiago Bernabéu boardroom.

Real Madrid weighing up their options

The offer presents a real dilemma. While Brahim may not be an undisputed starter, he brings crucial versatility, ball-carrying ability, and goal threat — traits that have often made him the difference-maker off the bench or in rotation during congested fixture periods.

With Jude Bellingham sidelined until October following shoulder surgery, Brahim is actually expected to feature prominently during the early stages of the season. His ability to operate as a No. 10, a wide playmaker, or even in a false nine role makes him a valuable tactical tool for Alonso.

Saudi clubs still targeting Europe’s best

Saudi Arabian clubs have shown no signs of slowing down in their pursuit of top-tier European talent. While most of their attention has been on veteran stars in the past, Brahim fits a newer profile — players in their mid-20s, still approaching their prime, and capable of elevating the league’s overall quality.

From a sporting standpoint, Brahim is reportedly focused on succeeding at Real Madrid. His decision to return from AC Milan and fight for his place has paid off, and sources close to the player claim he is not actively seeking a move. In fact, there have been murmurs of a potential contract extension — a clear sign that the club sees him as part of their long-term plans.

Will Madrid cash in?

Real Madrid are not in desperate need of funds, but they also understand the economics of modern football. An offer of €65 million for a squad player is rare — and tempting.

With the squad already stacked in attacking midfield roles — including Bellingham, Arda Güler, and potentially Franco Mastantuono playing deeper — the club may consider the proposal if they feel it won’t weaken the team’s structure or tactical balance.

For now, though, no final decision has been made. Brahim remains committed to the preseason plans, and unless his stance changes or a record-breaking bid comes through, he’s expected to stay at Valdebebas.
